Google Analytics
Google Analytics is added like any other connection. Once it is connected, your agent can run reports on your website's traffic when you ask, without you exporting anything.
Connect it
Ask in a thread: “Connect my Google Analytics”. The agent sends you a link that opens Google's own sign-in page. Sign in with the Google account that can see your Analytics property; the agent never sees your password.
Or, as an owner or admin, open the agent's Credentials tab (from the Menu, Settings), press + Connect an app on the Connected apps card, search for Google Analytics and press Connect. When you are back, name the connection so you can tell it apart from other accounts.
Ask for a report
Ask in your own words, naming the numbers and the dates you want: “How many visitors did the site have last week, by source?” or “Which ten pages had the most views in September?” The agent runs the report in your Analytics account and answers with the figures.
Running a report only reads your data, so the agent does it without asking you first, whatever the connection's Changes setting.
Anything that would change your Analytics account
A report never changes your account. Anything else that would, follows the Changes setting the agent's owner chooses on the connection, under Connected apps:
- Ask me first (the default): the agent does not make the change on its own.
- Allowed: the agent may create and update there on its own.
Deleting always asks, whichever you choose.
A report every week
A report can run by itself too: “Every Monday at 8, send me last week's visitors and top pages.” See Automations.
When the connection expires
If Google ends the connection (a changed password or removed access, say), it shows Expired under Connected apps. Ask the agent to reconnect it and sign in again. See Connections.
